Ken Indovino
Ken Indovino attended John Glenn High
School. While attending high school he
played soccer for John Glenn and achieved League Champions 83, 84, 85 & 86,
Suffolk County Champions 85 & 86, Long Island Champions 86, and New York State
Champions 86. Ken went on to a local
college on Long Island and played soccer for the Farmingdale Rams. He started as a freshman for Farmingdale a Division
3 school.
After college Ken continued to play
soccer he kept up his skills and worked towards his “C” and “B” Soccer Coaches
License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). His goal was to become more then a player but
a coach, mentor, and teacher of the game.
Ken join the NSCAA, which he attends classes to stay on top of his
coaching ability. He currently holds an
Advanced Regional “A” Soccer Coaches License from the NSCAA as well a Regional
Goalie Soccer Coaches License.
Ken now married with 3 children, settling
down in Smithtown. He joined the
Smithtown Kickers Soccer Club. Where he
is a board member and has been around youth soccer for 10 plus years, ageing
from 4 to 15 years of age. He has held a
coordinators position for boys/girls for several years with the Kickers as well
as the Intramural Director for the past 5 years. As the Intramural Director, Ken had the
responsibility of 1200 players each season.
Now he is responsible for player development and training. Ken is actively coordinating and training boys
and girls from U7 and up. Based on the
age level and the player’s experience, his program covers the basic fundamentals
of soccer, tactical/technical/physical/mental part of the game, and prepares
players for high competitive levels of soccer.
He also is training Intramural players as they take their next step to
the travel level. Each of his sons plays
soccer for Smithtown since they were 4 years of age. Now playing at U15, U11, and U9, Ken can be
found at their games or working with other young players.
