Fall Out from Homecoming!
It started off innocently enough. Ryan Galeone charged the ring looking for answers, and with VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton in the ring, why not challenge face to face the VPW New York State Champion Eric James and ask why he is not deserving of the title shot but TJ Crawford, making his VPW debut, is.
Fulton appreciated his moxie but told Galeone that if he wanted to meet James for the title, he’d have to earn it and beat The Dime Piece Aaron Rourke.
Rourke proved to be a challenge, but with his sights set on becoming the New York State Champion, and after being denied so many fair opportunities since joining VPW, Galeone made sure this was his night.
In the main event, it would be Eric James defending the title against TJ Crawford in an action packed crazy match that pushed both men to the limits. In the end, James would be successful and retain the title.
After the match, Galeone came to the ring to celebrate with the champion. The two shook hands, but Galeone would not let go. After a brief encounter, Eric James would clothesline Galeone to the outside.
Landing on his feet, Galeone’s frustration intensified. After pacing around the entrance, he started to make his way back to the ring.
The locker room cleared out to hold Galeone back, at the behest of new Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James M. Sullivan, sending the big bull back to the locker room to cool off as the show ended.
At VPW 144: The Gold Rush Rumble, there will be no holding back. Ryan Galeone will meet Eric James for the VPW New York State Championship in what will be one of the biggest challenges for James as defending champion.
Who will walk away as champion at the end of the night?
